Join us at the Around Cyprus for Charities conference.

The conference is taking place as the final event of “Cyprus Swim Tour – Around Cyprus for Charities” campaign. Julien Mevel is on a 280-kilometre swimming tour to shed light on various environmental and humanitarian problems in Cyprus and fundraise to support humanitarian aid programs focused on vulnerable groups.
During the conference, together with the screening of a mini-documentary of the tour, Julien Mevel will share his experience from his tour and there will be a panel discussion on the topics of migration, humanitarian crisis, and environmental issues in Cyprus by various experts.

The panellists are:

• Emilia Strovolidou is a lawyer and has been working for refugee rights since 1998. She joined the Representation of the UN Refugee Agency, UNHCR Cyprus, in Cyprus in 2000, to assist in the asylum capacity building of the country and since 2002 has been working as a public information officer aiming at enhancing awareness and empathy for refugees in the society
• Anna Koukkides-Procopiou works as a consultant on Turkey/Cyprus for the International Crisis Group, and she is a Senior Fellow and Member of the Advisory Board at the Cyprus Center of European and International Affairs, University of Nicosia. Her work as an independent consultant focuses on political risk analysis, inclusive security, foreign policy and gender, on which she also writes and lectures extensively
• Myrto Skouroupathi is an Environmental Engineer (MEng) and climate justice activist. For the past 5 years, she has been working at the Cyprus Energy Agency, an NGO working on climate change and sustainable energy. Her main role at the Agency is the development of Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plans for local authorities
• The discussion will be facilitated by Stephanos Evangelides, a member of Generation for Change CY and an advocate

Σας προσκαλούμε στο συνέδριο “Around Cyprus for Charities”.

Το συνέδριο θα αποτελέσει την τελική εκδήλωση της καμπάνιας “Cyprus Swim Tour-Around Cyprus for Charities”. O Julien Mevel πραγματοποιεί κολυμπώντας μια διαδρομή 280 χιλιομέτρων, με σκοπό να αναδείξει διάφορα περιβαλλοντικά και ανθρωπιστικά προβλήματα στην Κύπρο και να συγκεντρώσει χρήματα για τη στήριξη προγραμμάτων ανθρωπιστικής βοήθειας για ευάλωτες ομάδες.

Κατά τη διάρκεια του συνεδρίου, μαζί με την προβολή ενός μίνι ντοκιμαντέρ της περιοδείας, ο Julien Mevel θα μοιραστεί την εμπειρία του από το ταξίδι, ενώ θα υπάρχει και ενα πάνελ από διάφορους ειδικούς, που θα συζητήσει ζητήματα σχετικά με τη μετανάστευση, την ανθρωπιστική κρίση και τα περιβαλλοντικά προβλήματα στην Κύπρο.

Μέλη του πάνελ θα είναι οι εξής:

• Η Αιμιλία Στροβολίδου είναι δικηγόρος και εργάζεται στον τομέα των δικαιωμάτων των προσφύγων από το 1998. Έχει λάβει μέρος στην αντιπροσωπεία της Ύπατης Αρμοστείας του ΟΗΕ για τους πρόσφυγες, UNHCR, στην Κύπρο το 2000, προσφέροντας βοήθεια όσον αφορά τη δυνατότητα στέγασης ασύλου της χώρας και από το 2002 εργάζεται ως λειτουργός δημόσιας ενημέρωσης με στόχο την ενίσχυση της ευαισθητοποίησης και της ενσυναισθησης για τους πρόσφυγες στην κοινωνία
• Η Άννα Κουκκίδη-Προκοπίου εργάζεται ως σύμβουλος στην Τουρκία/Κύπρο για τη Διεθνή Ομάδα Κρίσεων και είναι Ανώτατο Στέλεχος και Μέλος του Διοικητικού Συμβουλίου του Κυπριακού Κέντρου Ευρωπαϊκών και Διεθνών Υποθέσεων του Πανεπιστημίου της Λευκωσίας. Η εργασία της ως ανεξάρτητη σύμβουλος επικεντρώνεται στην ανάλυση πολιτικού ρίσκου, στη συμμετοχική ασφάλεια, την εξωτερική πολιτική και τα φύλα, για τα οποία συγγράφει επίσης εκτενώς διαλέξεις
• Η Μυρτώ Σκουρουπάθη είναι μηχανικός περιβάλλοντος και ακτιβίστρια για την κλιματική δικαιοσύνη. Τα τελευταία 5 χρόνια εργάζεται στο Ενεργειακό Γραφείο Κύπρου, μια ΜΚΟ που ασχολείται με την κλιματική αλλαγή και τη βιώσιμη ενέργεια. Ο βασικός της ρόλος στο Γραφείο είναι η ανάπτυξη της Βιώσιμης Ενέργειας και τα Σχέδια Δράσης για το Κλίμα για τις τοπικές αρχές
• Την συζήτηση θα συντονίσει ο Στέφανος Ευαγγελίδης, μέλος της Generation for Change CY και νομικός.Ημερομηνία: Σάββατο 7 Μαΐου

Enrolment for the summer semester of our eLearning for Change free online Greek- and English-as-second-language classes is now open.

The classes will run for three months, aiming to provide functional day-to-day language communication skills to participants. Students who complete the trimester will be provided with a certificate of participation and other incentives.

Classes begin on the 16th of May 2022 and will run through until the 29th of July 2022. Class times and schedules will be announced soon.

If you would like to take part in this program, please select the registration that applies to you (either for Greek or for English) below. The deadline for registration is the 1st of May.

L’inscription à nos cours en ligne gratuits d’e-learning for Change de grec et d’anglais comme langue seconde est désormais ouverte.

Les cours dureront trois mois et visent à fournir aux participants des compétences fonctionnelles en communication linguistique quotidienne. Les étudiants qui terminent le trimestre recevront un certificat de participation et d’autres invitations.

تم فتح باب التسجيل للفصل الصيفي في فصول التعليم الإلكتروني من أجل التغيير (eLearning for Change) مجانًا على الإنترنت – باللغة اليونانية والإنجليزية كلغة ثانية.

‎تستمر الفصول الدراسية لمدة ثلاثة أشهر ، بهدف توفير مهارات الاتصال اللغوي الوظيفية اليومية للمشاركين. سيتم تزويد الطلاب الذين يكملون الفصل الدراسي بشهادة مشاركة وحوافز أخرى.

‎تبدأ الفصول الدراسية في 16 مايو 2022 وستستمر حتى 29 يوليو 2022. سيتم الإعلان عن مواعيد الحصص والجداول الزمنية قريبًا.
