A Powerful Beginning: Day 1 of the Nicosia Antiracist Festival 2026
✨ What an incredible start to the Nicosia Antiracist Festival 2026! ✨
On Friday, March 27, Day 1 brought together more than 120 participants, including activists, young people, academics, artists, and community members, for a vibrant day of workshops, film screenings, and discussions on migration, youth empowerment, gender equality, LGBTQI+ inclusion, disability rights, and access to rights, all through an antiracist lens.
We want to extend a huge thank you to all the amazing organizations and facilitators who made the day so inspiring:
🟨 Mediterranean Institute of Gender Studies & European Network of Migrant Women for their workshop “What does feminist solidarity look like in confronting racism and standing with racialized women?”
🟨 Association for Historical Dialogue and Research for the “Do neo-Nazis eat kebab?” anti-racist education workshop.
🟨ACCEPT for Health & Care Without Borders: From Theory to Action.
🟨 Døcumatism & Step Up Stop Slavery for the Short Film Screenings & Dialogue: Migration, Identity, and Labour in Focus
🟨 Tap Seu Pouh for the Know Your Rights legal session for refugees
Guests also enjoyed snacks and traditional Nigerian cuisine, adding a delicious cultural touch to the day and making the festival experience even more vibrant and inclusive.
Special thanks to the University of Nicosia and Bridges for Tomorrow for their support in the implementation of the sessions.
Your dedication, energy, and expertise created a welcoming and inspiring space for dialogue, learning, and community building.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined. Your presence and engagement made Day 1 truly unforgettable.
The sessions were organized within the framework of the AntiRacism360 project, co-funded by the European Commission through the Erasmus+ program.
