AntiRacism360 Greece Report: Youth Voices and Pathways to Inclusive Societies
Generation 2.0 for Rights, Equality & Diversity Greece, together with Generation for Change CY, presents the AntiRacism360: Empowering Youth for Inclusive Societies – Research Report Greece, exploring how racism is experienced in Greece and how young people understand and engage with antiracist action. Drawing on a literature review and qualitative research, including interviews and a focus group with racialized and non-racialized youth, activists, and community stakeholders, the report shows that racism remains a persistent part of everyday life. It affects access to public spaces, housing, transport, and employment, while also being normalized in school environments where discrimination often goes unchallenged. Media narratives and public discourse further reinforce xenophobic attitudes and online hate.
At the same time, the report highlights key barriers to youth engagement in antiracist action, including financial insecurity, limited access to information, fear of backlash, and a lack of visible role models. It concludes with recommendations calling for early and continuous antiracism education, stronger training and reporting mechanisms for educators, greater investment in community-based and intercultural initiatives, and more inclusive representations of Greek identity that amplify migrant voices and alternative narratives.
