ELEVATE HERight: A New Initiative to Prevent GBV in Migrant and Refugee Communities
We are excited to announce the launch of the “ELEVATE HERight project, focused on addressing gender-based violence (GBV) experienced by refugee and migrant women.
In particular, the project’s primary objective is to prevent and combat GBV in migrant communities through a multifaceted approach that includes:
1. Facilitating access to relevant services for survivors and at-risk migrant and refugee women via a comprehensive 1:1 case management, based on collaborations with service providers and a database of entities and services.
2. Raising awareness about GBV within migrant communities through targeted campaigns and discussions.
3. Fostering a sense of community and empowerment among migrant women via 27 weeks of sewing and tailoring workshops that incorporate GBV education.
The 12-month project is led by Generation for Change CY and implemented in partnership with the Cyprus Family Planning Association.
