From Online Classrooms to Graduation: Celebrating 120 Learners
This summer, 265 adults from 64 countries sat down at a screen and started learning a language! 📚
Over eight weeks, e-Learning for Change delivered 420 teaching hours across 15 online Greek and English classes at A1 and A2 level, for migrants and refugees in Cyprus and beyond. 120 learners completed the course and received their certificate.
They came from Ukraine, DR Congo, Russia, Cameroon, Iran, Syria, Sudan, Palestine, Vietnam, the Philippines and dozens of other places. Some arrived without knowing the Greek alphabet. By August, they were greeting people in Greek on the street.
None of it would have happened without our 15 volunteer teachers, who gave their evenings for two months to teach people they had never met. Thank you. You built something that 565 people applied for.
The classes are provided through the DigitaLingua project, co-funded by the European Union through the Erasmus+ Program.
