Generation for Change CY Strengthens Skills and Commitment to Combat Gender-Based Violence

Generation for Change CY Team took part in a comprehensive session on Gender-Based Violence offered by the Cyprus Family Planning Association.

The session introduced our team members to fundamental concepts and explored topics such as sex, gender, and identity. Through these discussions, the training offered valuable insights into how stereotypes and biases influence perceptions and behaviors.

Through interactive sessions, the team examined various forms of abuse and violence, gaining a deeper understanding of their conceptual foundations, causes and impacts. A central focus of the training was recognizing Sexual and Gender-Based Violence among refugee and migrant populations.

The training was carried out as part of the ELEVATE HERight project, which is implemented by Generation for Change CY and the Cyprus Family Planning Association in the framework of the PREVENT programme. PREVENT is co-funded by the European Union, through the Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values (CERV) programme, the Bodossaki Foundation and the NGO Support Centre with a total grant amount of €2.3 million.
