Launch of the Greek Language Summer Course for Migrant and Refugee Youth
We launched our 100-hour in-person Greek language course (A1–A2) for migrant and refugee teenagers aged 13 to 18, with 55 students enrolled.
This course is designed to support participants in building confidence in using Greek for everyday communication and to contribute to their formal education journey.
At the end of the course, students will have the opportunity to take an official language assessment to evaluate their proficiency level. Participants who complete the course and successfully attend the assessment will receive an accredited certificate of achievement.
Apart from the classroom sessions, a sense of community is fostered through the recreational spaces of our Empowerment Center. Participants can enjoy a PlayStation 5, board games, a mini-library for study support, and various creative and leisure activities. Snacks and refreshments are also provided during each session, making the experience both enriching and welcoming.
We sincerely thank Coca-Cola HBC Cyprus for their generous contribution of refreshments for the participants. We also gratefully acknowledge the support of UNHCR Cyprus, which provided learning supplies to enhance the learning experience further.
This course is part of the CREATE project and is co-funded by the European Union through the AMIF program.
