Launching Weekly Sewing & Tailoring Sessions for Migrant and Refugee Women in Cyprus
We are excited to announce the launch of our Weekly Sewing & Tailoring Sessions for Migrant and Refugee Women in Cyprus!
This program brings together an average of 10 participants every week for a 3.5-hour workshop, offering a creative and supportive learning experience that develops sewing and tailoring skills, explores garment design, and builds confidence in a safe and empowering environment.
The program will run for 27 weeks, during which participants will benefit from hands-on sewing sessions, special group workshops on women’s rights and well-being, and the opportunity to connect with other women while gaining practical skills for daily life, self-expression, and future possibilities.
We sincerely thank Hudson Cyprus Ltd for their generous support of the program by providing us with eight high-quality sewing machines.
The sessions are conducted as part of the ELEVATE HERight project, which is implemented in the framework of the PREVENT program by Generation for Change CY and the Cyprus Family Planning Association. PREVENT is co-funded by the European Union, through the Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values (CERV) program, the Bodossaki Foundation, and the NGO Support Centre with a total grant amount of €2.3 million.
