Busting Myths About Refugees
Generation for Change CY, in collaboration with Athletes for Hope, presents “Busting Myths About Refugees”, a practical and accessible publication designed to challenge widespread misinformation and harmful narratives about refugees and migrants in Cyprus through sport-based language and visuals.
Using clear, evidence-based content and sport-inspired storytelling, the booklet addresses common myths related to crime, welfare, employment, health, and integration, offering factual insights that promote understanding and critical thinking. Developed through participatory workshops, community engagement, and co-creation with refugees and local communities, it reflects lived experiences and real concerns identified throughout the project.
The booklet was developed under the PASS project, funded by the Olympic Refuge Foundation through the Collaborative Action Grant, on behalf of the Sports for Refugees Coalition.
