Participation at the M-Power Migrants and Refugees on Sexual Reproductive Health Conference
On April 25th, we had the opportunity to participate in the “M-Power Migrants and Refugees on Sexual Reproductive Health” conference. This event brought together a diverse group of stakeholders, such as health professionals, NGOs, social workers, and migrants, to discuss a significant contemporary issue: the difficulties and disparities that migrants and refugees encounter in the realm of sexual and reproductive health and rights in a country that still has considerable progress to make in ensuring sexual rights for all.
Etinosa Erevbenagie-Johnbull, the Managing Director of Generation for Change, presented the Action Plan on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights of Migrants and Refugees in Cyprus at the conference. The Action Plan was composed by a team of stakeholders from representatives from NGOs, state services, and migrants/refugees themselves.
We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to all the organizations that played a role in carrying out the project and to the speakers of the conference. A special thanks to the Cyprus Family Planning Association Κυπριακός Σύνδεσμος Οικογενειακού Προγραμματισμού – ΚΣΟΠ / Cyprus FPA for inviting us to be part of this amazing project for the last 12 months.
The ‘M-Power’ project is coordinated by the Cyprus Family Planning Association in collaboration with Sex og Politikk. The project benefits from a grant under the Active Citizens Fund Cyprus program, funded by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway, through the EEA and Norway Grants 2014-2021.

Στις 25 Απριλίου είχαμε την ευκαιρία να συμμετάσχουμε στο συνέδριο “M-Power Migrants and Refugees on Sexual Reproductive Health”. Η εκδήλωση αυτή έφερε σε επαφή ένα ευρύ φάσμα συμμετεχόντων, όπως επαγγελματίες υγείας, ΜΚΟ, κοινωνικούς λειτουργούς και μετανάστες, για να συζητήσουν ένα σημαντικό σύγχρονο ζήτημα: τις δυσκολίες και τις ανισότητες που αντιμετωπίζουν οι μετανάστες και οι πρόσφυγες στον τομέα της σεξουαλικής και αναπαραγωγικής υγείας και των δικαιωμάτων σε μια χώρα που έχει ακόμη να σημειώσει σημαντική πρόοδο στην εξασφάλιση των σεξουαλικών δικαιωμάτων για όλους.
Στο συνέδριο ο Etinosa Erevbenagie-Johnbull, διευθύνων σύμβουλος της Generation for Change CY, παρουσίασε το Σχέδιο Δράσης για τη σεξουαλική και αναπαραγωγική υγεία και τα δικαιώματα των μεταναστών και των προσφύγων στην Κύπρο. Το Σχέδιο Δράσης συγκροτήθηκε από ομάδα εμπλεκομένων από εκπροσώπους ΜΚΟ, κρατικών υπηρεσιών και τους ίδιους τους μετανάστες/πρόσφυγες.
Θα θέλαμε να εκφράσουμε την ειλικρινή μας εκτίμηση σε όλες τις οργανώσεις που έπαιξαν ρόλο στην υλοποίηση του σχεδίου και στους ομιλητές του συνεδρίου. Ιδιαίτερες ευχαριστίες στον Κυπριακός Σύνδεσμος Οικογενειακού Προγραμματισμού που μας προσκάλεσε να συμμετέχουμε σε αυτό το καταπληκτικό έργο τους τελευταίους 12 μήνες.
