Employability Hub
Vocational skills, job-related Information Communication Technology (ICT) skills, language skills, awareness of the local labor market context, job application processes, and soft skills like teamwork and leadership are crucial in finding employment worldwide.
As the global and Cypriot labor markets become increasingly digitalized and require new and flexible skill sets, there is a rising demand for training and employability projects.
The Employability Hub is a core program of Generation for Change CY, implemented since December 2022, to enhance the employability and inclusion of disadvantaged groups in Cyprus’ labor market. It aims to equip migrants and refugees with vocational skills, develop their job-related digital literacy, language skills in Greek and English, and social skills in the workplace, as well as increase their knowledge of the Cypriot labor market and labor rights.
In the first two and a half years of the program, over 1500 migrants and refugees have benefited from the program. All the activities and services are provided free of charge, and interested participants can be informed on when the activities and courses are taking place by following our social media, website announcements, and newsletters, or by contacting us at +35722100794 or info@generationforchangecy.org.
We encourage unemployed persons, women, non-binary persons, newly arrived migrants, asylum seekers and refugees, and low-skilled workers to register.
Activities and Services Offered
1. ICT skills courses: To develop their job-related ICT skills, the participants will follow training on the fundamentals of computers that includes training on (1) Internet browsing and targeted searching, (2) Microsoft Office/Google Suite productivity tools, (3) Email Services (Gmail), (4) Google Maps and translate, and (5) Cyprus Labor Office platform and job search and Cypriot services websites and platforms. A minimum of two 20-hour course rounds are offered annually.
2. CV Creation sessions: Participants receive CV creation sessions to assist them in creating a convincing and professional curriculum vitae (CV). This service is offered on an ongoing basis throughout the year.
3. Labor Rights seminars: To increase the participants’ knowledge regarding their rights as employees and how to report violations to the appropriate authorities, they will attend seminars covering labor rights in the Cypriot context. A minimum of two sessions is offered annually.
4. Greek and English language courses: Participants will attend language classes to develop their Greek and English language skills and equip themselves with job-related vocabulary and phrases. The courses are designed in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. A minimum of three 50-hour course rounds are offered annually.
5. Job Interview Preparation and Social Skills workshop: To enhance their preparedness when attending job interviews, the participants will follow workshops to prepare for the most commonly asked questions in job interviews in Cyprus and best practices to follow before attending the job interview. A minimum of two sessions is offered annually.
6. Job Search sessions: Job Search sessions will be organized to support and increase the participants’ chances of getting employed. This service is offered on an ongoing basis throughout the year.
7. Vocational Skills Training: To equip participants with job-relevant skills, we offer a range of vocational training programs, such as certified Barista courses and other professional qualifications. A minimum of two rounds of various training program are offered annually.

The program has received support from multiple donors. The U.S. Embassy in Cyprus (under the Strengthening ties between the U.S. and Cyprus program), the UN Human Rights (December 2022 – September 2023), and by the European Network Against Racism’s Empowerment and Resilience Fund, which is financed by the ENAR Foundation, Universitas Foundation, and Bridges for Tomorrow (September 2023 – December 2025).
