MINDSET: Migrant Integration through Digital Skills and Entrepreneurship Training

Professionals and trainers working with people of migrant backgrounds play a crucial role in developing the entrepreneurial capacities of young migrants and refugees. The current economic landscape requires prioritizing the support of people with fewer opportunities, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge to navigate entrepreneurial pathways.

Moreover, as more job opportunities are linked to entrepreneurship, having the right business knowledge is essential for economic integration. Entrepreneurship offers critical advantages for EU citizens, providing access to economic independence and societal participation. However, without proper support and guidance, young migrants and refugees may face barriers that hinder their ability to pursue entrepreneurial opportunities, limiting their chances for economic independence and successful integration into society.

Specific Objectives

Enhance the employability and entrepreneurship of young migrants: Equip them with digital and entrepreneurial skills to foster economic independence and integration into the workforce.
Strengthen the skills of professionals working with migrants: Enable them to effectively use digital and entrepreneurial tools to mentor and support migrant youth in their entrepreneurial endeavors.

Through these objectives, the MINDSET project aims to empower young migrants and refugees, improve their employability, and enhance the capacity of professionals supporting them, ultimately leading to increased economic self-sufficiency and integration.

Key Activities

Desk research, 10 interviews with successful entrepreneurs of diverser backgroudns to inspire by discussing the challenges they faced and identifying best practices for overcoming obstacles, and 2 focus groups with migrants in Cyprus and Italy to collect data and assess their entrepreneurial needs.
Create a 40-to 60-page digital Entrepreneurship Toolkit for migrants and refugees.
Produce a 20-page mini-report on the key challenges of young migrants and refugees striving to become entrepreneurs in Cyprus and Italy.
Delivery of a 5-hour training for 30 professionals working with young migrants and refugees in Cyprus and Italy on entrepreneurship knowledge using the guide as a base.
Delivery of 12-hour entrepreneurship workshops in Cyprus and Italy for 30 migrant and refugee youth to enhance their digital and entrepreneurship skills.
Organize a youth entrepreneurship fair to provide an engaging platform for migrant and refugee entrepreneurs to network, share their business ideas, and showcase their offerings.
