Participation in the Regional Consultations with NGOs in Europe 2023

We had the honour to participate for the first time in the Regional Consultations with NGOs in Europe organised by UNHCR and ICVA, which took place in Geneva, Switzerland, on the 19th and 20th of September 2023. The conference brought together more than 100 entities working with and for refugees from across Europe. It focused on inclusion in the national systems, roles of organisations led by refugees, other forcibly displaced and stateless people, and gender equality. Generation for Change CY Co-founder and Managing Director Etinosa Erevbenagie-Johnbull was one of the speakers and covered the topic of non-discrimination and social cohesion. During his presentation, he focused on the recent escalation of violence and the increasing anti-refugee and anti-migrant rhetoric in Cyprus manifesting in different societal spaces. He also presented the work of Generation for Change CY in promoting interculturalism by fostering the systematic, meaningful interaction between refugees, migrants and locals in spaces with equal footing amongst all, enabling honest and respectful dialogue.
