Struggle and Resilience: Challenges Faced by At-Risk Youth in Cyprus, Bulgaria, and Ireland (Mini-Report)
Generation for Change CY, in partnership with Blackwater Training & Consulting (Ireland) and the Foundation “Situational Center Open Doors” (Bulgaria), has published the mini-report titled “Struggle and Resilience: Challenges Faced by At-Risk Youth in Cyprus, Bulgaria, and Ireland.”
This report examines the experiences and integration challenges of at-risk youth aged 14 to 30, particularly those from migrant, refugee, and displaced backgrounds. Through desk research, surveys, interviews, and focus groups, the report explores five key areas: mental health and well-being, language and communication, housing, access to education and employment, and issues of discrimination and social inclusion.
The findings highlight significant structural barriers that these young people face, while also showcasing their resilience and aspirations. This underscores the need for inclusive, youth-centered, and rights-based responses to their challenges.
The publication serves as a foundation for designing targeted interventions under the BEYOND project and aims to support practitioners, civil society, and policymakers in promoting youth inclusion.
This project is co-funded by the European Union through the Erasmus+ program.
