Policy Brief – The Impact of Labor Market Restrictions on Asylum Seekers in Cyprus

Generation for Change CY is pleased to publish the FAIR Policy Brief on Labor Market Restrictions of Asylum Seekers in Cyprus. The policy brief presents key findings on rights awareness, the nine-month work ban, the sectoral restrictions, and workplace discrimination. These findings are accompanied by evidence-based recommendations outlining targeted measures to improve access to safe and lawful employment, strengthen protections against discrimination and exploitation, and support effective social and economic integration for asylum seekers in Cyprus. 

The FAIR policy brief draws on research conducted by Generation for Change CY, including 200 survey responses and 20 in-depth interviews with asylum seekers and refugees, documenting the material and psychological impacts of the current employment restrictions.
