WAVE Project: Bridging the Digital Divide for Young Migrants Across Europe
Ongoing digital transformation and advancements, particularly in areas like AI, are bringing significant benefits to individuals and professionals alike.
However, many young migrants remain excluded from these opportunities due to the digital divide, often limiting their integration and active participation in society.
To address this challenge, Generation for Change CY, in collaboration with the French Red Cross (France), Istituto degli Innocenti di Firenze (Italy), Faros (Greece), and Inercia Digital (Spain), has designed and launched the WAVE project.
In June, all partners met in Paris to officially kick off WAVE, a project aiming to bridge the digital divide and foster social inclusion for young migrants across Europe.
What will WAVE do?
– Train 270 young migrants through a 20-hour digital skills course to boost their access to online services, education, and job opportunities.
– Empower 110 local young people to become “digital peers” who will support migrant youth through peer-to-peer learning and intercultural exchange.
– Equip 190 youth workers and digital trainers with cutting-edge tools and training including job-shadowing, to better support migrant learners.
– Co-create a multilingual Digital Toolkit full of practical resources and inclusive methodologies for digital education.
Through this innovative and collaborative approach, WAVE aims to create safe, empowering digital learning spaces and foster active citizenship and community engagement among young people.
WAVE is co-funded by the European Union through the Erasmus+ Program.
